Description:
We are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Welder Fabricator on a full-time, permanent basis. This role will be predominantly workshop based but may also involve occasionally working on-site onshore.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Welding a variety of materials including 304 and 316 stainless steel and S275 & S355 mild steel using TIG, MIG and flux-core.
- Support the ongoing operations of the company by ensuring all tasks are completed in the agreed timeframe and to group and client requirements.
- Ensure all welded and fabricated work is carried out to a high standard.
- Ensuring workshop job packs are completed accurately and to a high standard.
- Ability and willingness to work occasional overtime, sometimes at short notice.
- Ability to work away from home within the UK.
- Embrace the group QHSE objectives and play an active part in maintaining and improving workshop procedures, processes and safety.
- Willingness to adapt as the job role requires, and to learn new skills.
- The ability to use own initiative, and to be able to work individually or as part of a team.
Essential
- 3 years or more of experience post apprenticeship within a similar role.
- Time served in a fabrication, mechanical or other suitable engineering discipline.
- HNC or HND (or equivalent) qualification in an engineering discipline.
- Ability to read and understand 2D and 3D general assembly and fabrication drawings.
- Basic knowledge of oilfield products including hydraulic and mechanical equipment.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage own workload effectively to meet deadlines as is necessary.
- Technical problem-solving ability.
- Communicates effectively with internal and external contacts in a professional manner.
- Works effectively within a team or other work group as appropriate.
Preferred
- Experience of hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Pipefitting knowledge.
