Volunteer Counsellor

Description:

SafeTalk, a community interest company and sister service to Clear Minds, is seeking volunteers passionate about mental health and emotional wellbeing to join their growing team. SafeTalk provides an online live chat service offering support to individuals with mental health and emotional wellbeing needs. As part of their expansion, SafeTalk is looking for volunteers to provide more hours of support to the community.

The positions available are:

• Counsellor (minimum of Level 4 qualification and 1 year of experience).
• Life Coach (qualified or open to gaining qualifications, with experience supporting both adults and children).
• Family Support Worker (experience working with families and young people).

All candidates must have experience working with adults, children, and young people. Experience with digital platforms is an advantage but not essential, as training will be provided. Volunteers must be willing to commit to regular weekly hours and work remotely.

Responsibilities:

• Provide emotional and mental health support via an online live chat service.
• Work with a range of clients including adults, children, and young people.
• Support individuals with mental health concerns, offering guidance and a safe space to talk.
• Contribute to the growth and development of SafeTalk in its mission to support mental and emotional wellbeing.

Requirements:

• Counsellor: Minimum Level 4 qualification and at least 1 year of experience.
• Life Coach: Qualification or willingness to gain the qualification. Experience in working with adults and children is necessary.
• Family Support Worker: Experience supporting families and young people.
• Experience in working with diverse groups of people and providing emotional support.
• Digital communication skills (preferred but not essential, training will be provided).
• Ability to commit to regular hours weekly.
