Virtualisation Engineer

Description:

The Virtualisation Engineer will be part of a great team dedicated to maintaining and improving the existing and future virtualisation environments.

Collaborating with colleagues and other engineering teams to ensure these services are delivered and managed via an aligned and consistent methodology.

You’ll need to bring a positive, hardworking, self-starter and flexible demeanour in applying different techniques to help drive successful outcomes. You are also encouraged to bring fresh ideas. You should be an excellent communicator with the passion and resilience to get things done!

Responsibilities

You will collaborate with technical leaders and contributors as you provide contributions to common goals. Additional responsibilities include
 

• We collaborate across geographic regions and businesses to align Virtualisation service improvements
• Work across towers to facilitate delivery of our services aligned to key principles and strategy of Infrastructure team
• Supporting our platform by ensuring alignment across key delivery functions, global coverage for deployment and operations, including maintenance windows
• Supporting business engagement and incident management as and when required
• Respond to Requests and Incidents in a timely and efficient manner while adhering to policies and procedures
• Deliver project work on schedule and at the highest quality possible
• Able to self-manage but will have access to mentors and on-the-job training as well as other training resources.
   

Required Skills And Experience
 

• Experience or familiarity with some Virtualisation products and solutions (VMware or other virtualisation platforms)
• Experience with the basics of Operating Systems such as Microsoft Windows And Linux.
• Ability to grow your knowledge and skills via mentoring, and training
• Ability to clearly communicate with the team and with customers on routine matters
