The Role

We are looking for a UX / UI Designer who creates exceptional user interface designs and has the ability to translate and develop those into world class intuitive and modern graphical interfaces.

The successful candidate will have a background in graphical design using creative media, but will also understand the technicalities of translating those designs into working software.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious UI/UX Designer to lead the UX design function for the development of our products and solutions. You will be working with talented cross-functional agile development teams to deliver software solutions with best-in-class user experiences for a variety of diverse customers across defence and public sector.

Job Responsibilities

• UI Design: Create visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces – use of design tools eg. Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD.
• UX Design: Conduct user research, creating user personas, wireframing, prototyping and ensuring that the product meets user needs and expectations.
• Front-End Development: Implement the designed user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. For web based designs ensure responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility.
• Collaboration: Work closely with users and developers to ensure a cohesive and efficient development process.
• User Testing: Conduct usability testing and gathering feedback to iterate on designs and improve the user experience.
• Accessibility: Ensure that the user interface is accessible to all users and follows best practices in line with customer requirements.

Skills Required

• Application of User Experience Design and User Centric Design principles.
• Ability to translate designs into working graphical user interfaces with the assistance of front end software engineers.
• Strong graphical design background and knowledge of Design Systems.
• Working knowledge of User Interface development using Angular and modern frameworks such as React, Vue.js and native js with proficiency in CSS and HTML.
• Adaptable, ability to pick up new tools and learn quickly.
• Good at translating customer requirements into an actionable user experience design.
• Experience with producing responsive, accessible, mobile-first web applications.
• Knowledge of Agile development methodology.
