Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for allocated UK Depositary clients and will work in a team dynamic with a number of existing relationship managers.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Client, Internal & External Relationships
- Responsible for an allocated portfolio of client relationships and the delivery of depositary services to those clients in accordance with applicable regulation, policies and procedures.
- Developing a deep understanding of each allocated client's business, objectives, goals and market challenges; whilst ensuring the bank's relationship plan is consistent.
- Cultivating strong working relationships with client contacts.
- Effectively representing UK Depositary Services internally within Northern Trust while maintaining active relationships with relevant contacts. A key internal contact groups include GFS / Asset Owners Relationship Managers and Client Support, Sales, TNTC_LB as Custodian and other Corporate Functions.
- Ensuring overall client satisfaction by facilitating efforts of service teams, coordinating resources to ensure timely delivery and issue-resolution, and effectively communicating client concerns/needs.
- Support the financial roadmap of client relationships ensuring client profit and loss is accurate and assessed periodically.
- Business Management & Control
- Supporting work with sales and relationships teams to retain and grow existing clients and successfully win new business.
- Representing UK Depositary Services in a manner which enhances its internal profile and contributes to its ability to respond to commercial challenges and opportunities
- Leveraging the broader Northern Trust organisation where possible whilst maintaining the independence of the UK Depositary business.
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of the client, competitor and wider market environment
- Representing UK Depositary Services on key regulatory projects/programmes, contributing to the business impacts of these.
- Risk Management
- The support of a risk culture within the business and responsible for client level risk identification, measurement and escalation, as applicable.
- Support a culture of effective challenge to ensure appropriate governance
- Regulatory change initiatives / product changes / internal operational changes - co-ordination and consistency with allocated clients.

- Proficient across the Microsoft Office application suite, in particular PowerPoint and Excel.
- Client facing experience in the provision of UK Fund services and/or a detailed knowledge of depositary services or related services within a typical UK Fund operating model (i.e. client service roles, fund accounting, transfer agency etc).
- Good level of knowledge of UK domiciled investment fund vehicles; regulation, client dynamic, operating models
- A good understanding of alternative investment funds (e.g. private equity, real estate or infrastructure investments).
