The Pensions team work hard on the day-to-day operations of the ITV pension schemes and for its members. It also supports the dynamic and engaging Trustee Boards with all aspects of scheme management

 

The role

 

Based in London, you’ll be a key part of a busy team that encourages innovation and clear-thinking. Your role will be to oversee and further develop all DC governance measures across the company’s pension arrangements and support the Head of DC Pensions in providing the Boards with high quality scheme management and trustee services.

 

You will make sure the DC arrangements are compliant with all statutory requirements, maintain key trustee policies and support colleagues in identifying solutions to complex queries. Using your strong technical knowledge, you will assess and communicate the impact of legislative and regulatory changes and oversee implementation of necessary actions. High levels of accuracy and strong attention to detail will be essential. You will be confident working independently while understanding the importance of close collaboration with colleagues in London and Preston. You will also be expected to work with, and critically evaluate the output of, advisers and research and draft high quality papers for trustee meetings.

 

The team operates a smart-working policy, balancing home-working with days in the office. You should anticipate spending 2-3 days in the office for an initial period upon joining.

 

Some of your key day-to-day responsibilities may include:

 

  • Deliver all elements of DC governance for two Trustee Boards to a high standard and within all regulatory timeframes
  • Drive the annual investment governance activities, including the SIP review and SMPI assumptions
  • Lead on the design and implementation of a risk management framework, with oversight of regular reporting of risk assessments
  • Manage the annual report and accounts exercise, supported by the Head of DC Pensions, including drafting of Trustee report and liaison with auditor and advisers
  • Support the Head of DC Pensions in delivery of projects, e.g. investment strategy review exercises, Regulator’s single code, trustee strategy sessions etc
  • Manage the process to review performance of advisers and service providers, including tender exercises
  • Produce high quality, accurate Trustee meeting papers, including reviewing adviser papers
  • Monitor changes in legislation and developments within the pension industry, identify how these impact the schemes and propose solutions
  • Take responsibility for identifying and responding to Trustee training needs
  • Plan the content of and arrange the annual meeting with fund managers
  • Work with colleagues and advisers in the production of the annual Value for Members report, assessment of DC arrangement against Regulator’s Code and SIP’s Implementation Statement
  • Manage the process to assess data quality, set action plan and report to Trustee
  • Manage process to review annual Internal Control reports and report to Trustee
  • Manage process to review Investment adviser and report to CMA/TPR
  • Review and update, as required, Trustee policies including MND, conflicts and anti-bribery
  • Manage process to update Trustee signatories and bank mandate authorities, including the creation of a process to manage the Plan’s General Fund
  • Working with Finance Team, put in place and manage the quarterly monitoring of Plan financial reporting carried out by a third party

 

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

 

  • Strong technical knowledge of pensions, relevant legislation and regulations
  • APMI or close to completion
  • Extensive experience in a governance, a consultancy role supporting DC Trustee Boards, or similar role
