We’re now recruiting a Competency Development Manager to manage supervision of new firms as part of our North and Midlands region.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Ensuring new Advisers achieve fully competent (FC) status within required time limits.
  • Carrying out checks where required, depending on level of competency.
  • L&D support for assessments/roleplays etc.
  • Delivering workshops to support the Adviser journey.
  • Identifying areas of concern or development needs of Advisers and address promptly, putting development plans in place where necessary.
  • Ensuring excellent customer service is consistently delivered to ensure a high quality customer journey.
  • Leading side by side and/or remote coaching and provide feedback.
  • Working closely with Approved Persons to ensure training priorities are met within timelines.
  • Promptly raising any concerns or areas of risk associated with Advisers and AR Firms.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • Experience in Later Life and Equity Release supervision
  • Ability to communicate at all levels with professionalism and integrity.
  • Excellent coaching, listening and development skills.
  • Observation and analytical skills to identify and issues or areas of risk.
  • Out of the box thinking to enable process improvement at all times.
  • Sound problem-solving skills, with ability to plan effective contingencies and solutions.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills across a range of stakeholders to influence change and form strong working relationships.
  • Strong organisation skills with ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • CEMAP or equivalent financial service qualification is essential. CeRER qualification is desirable.
