Test Equipment Mechanical Design Engineer

We're seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to spearhead the design of mechanical fixtures, jigs, and electronic enclosures in collaboration with our Hardware design engineers within the Test Equipment Department.

This role offers a remarkable opportunity to gain exposure to the Company's entire product range, engaging with various sub-systems and centers of excellence throughout the development life cycle.

As part of our established team, you'll develop designs aligned with requirements and adhere to company and external standards (such as ISO 2768 & BS8888). Conducting peer and design reviews will be integral, ensuring considerations for design for manufacture and design for test are paramount.

Your role will entail providing technical guidance to peers within the test equipment team and to equipment project managers. Leveraging your problem-solving skills, you'll collaborate closely with our manufacturing and hardware design engineers to investigate and resolve faults. Accurate maintenance of design records and utilisation of our company document database (Windchill/MatriX) will be essential aspects of your responsibilities.

What we’re looking for:

• Strong problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency in creating and utilising technical documentation, models, and drawings.
• Significant experience across the product life cycle, from development to manufacture.
• Relevant expertise in 3D CAD/CAE, preferably with ProEngineer/CREO/Windchill (consideration given to other CAD packages such as Solidworks/Solidedge).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, design for EMC, material selection, and tolerance studies.
• Capable of efficiently managing multiple small projects concurrently.
• Preferable experience in harness design.
