Technical Superintendent

Description:

A leading shipping company with a global presence is recruiting for a Technical Superintendent to join their team in London.

Reporting to the Fleet Manager, this role will plan, coordinate and supervise all scheduled and non-scheduled activities for normal maintenance, major maintenance, breakdown repairs, overhauls and modifications on the assigned vessels.

Other duties will include;

• To plan detailed schedules and requirements based on the vessels dry-docking due dates and draft specifications based on the completion of repair request forms and following inspection onboard the vessel.
• Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance repairs
• Development of vessel budgets
• Operating and dry dock expenditure
• Vessel inspection planning as required by SMS
• Ensures arrangements in place for maintaining appropriate certification
• Endorse the appropriate manning appointments on assigned vessels with Fleet Personnel
• Set clear goals and expectations for Masters, Chief Engineers and direct reports ashore
• Promote Health and Safety as Corporate Values including implementation of Company objectives
• Arrange class surveys in timely and cost-effective manner
• Ensures timely analysis of monthly financial reports
• Drive improvement in vessel purchase and parts supply activities
• Act upon any disciplinary actions needed on board assigned vessels
