Description:
Aviva is seeking a Technical Delivery Lead to join its Platform Engineering Team within the Tech Platforms business unit. This role is ideal for a tech-savvy leader with expertise in DevOps, automation, containerization, and integration platforms (AWS EKS, Amazon MQ). The selected candidate will lead a team of engineers to enhance platform reliability, operational efficiency, and automation, driving innovation in platform enablement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of skilled engineers, mentoring them to maintain and enhance integration platforms (AWS EKS, Amazon MQ).
- Implement core platform capabilities such as monitoring, observability, and DevSecOps methodologies.
- Manage various work streams across API Gateway and integration platforms, overseeing design, code reviews, and platform audits.
- Allocate tasks, resolve team blockers, and ensure timely delivery of business and BAU initiatives.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in Serverless APIs and Eventing capabilities.
- Conduct Proof of Concept (PoC) evaluations for technical advancements and communicate technical insights to senior leadership.
- Deploy, automate, maintain, and troubleshoot integration platforms, ensuring security, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Contribute to shaping technical standards and guidelines, ensuring consistency across integration platforms.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Expertise in containerization technologies (AWS EKS), API gateways (preferably Kong API Gateway), and service mesh (preferably Kong Mesh/Kuma/Envoy).
- Proficiency in Java programming and web service integration (REST, SOAP, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with DevOps tools (Terraform, GitOps, FluxCD, Vault, Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Artifactory, SonarQube).
- Strong background in software development (Terraform, YAML, Python, Groovy, Bash) and CI/CD automation.
- Experience in microservice and event-driven architectures, with the ability to produce High-Level (HLD) and Low-Level Designs (LLD).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to debug and resolve complex production issues.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
