Description:
You will convene and teach our undergraduate Level 1 module ‘Mind, Knowledge, and Ethics’ (ethics component), which introduces students to ideas, theories, and arguments in ethics. You will also convene and teach our Level 4 postgraduate module ‘Ethics’, which supports students in advanced study of contemporary debates in ethics. You will be responsible for assessment in each module, marking coursework for the Level 4 module, and exams for the Level 1 module.
Course materials from previous years will be available for both modules. They can be reviewed, edited or adapted to suit your own vision for each module.
You will have an excellent track record of delivering quality teaching to undergraduate students. You will have teaching experience in ethics. You must have a PhD already awarded (or to be awarded by time of appointment) in Philosophy.
The well-being and development of our students is of utmost importance to us, so the successful candidate will take a proactive role in the pastoral support of students. You will also be responsible for a reasonable share of departmental administration, and the ability to collaborate effectively with others is essential. You will be expected to engage in professional development related to teaching and engage with local and national teaching developments.
