Tax Manager

The role exists to provide support and cover for the tax affairs of Aviva Investors helping ensure that the business is tax complaint in its operations and protects the investment returns of customers of the business, so that those customers are taxed fairly in relation to their investment returns and they acquire the benefit of exemptions to which they are entitled. The role holder will be responsible for determining the potential tax impact of business decisions and feeding those points back to the decision makers in the business. This will relate to both corporate transactions and those that the business undertakes for clients/customers. The role holder will also be responsible for reviewing transfer pricing arrangements and helping the business implement appropriate fee sharing and cost recharge arrangements. The role holder will be accountable for providing timely and pertinent tax advice and support to the Aviva Investors business both in relation to its clients – whether funds or direct investment. To provide that spectrum of tax support, will require a wide appreciation of the taxes, tax risks and tax compliance requirements impacting the business gained through a tax qualification or significant experience of tax work. In particular, the role holder should be versatile in approach and keen to develop exposure to a wide range of taxes.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• A qualified tax professional, being someone holding a tax qualification, or someone holding an accounting qualification.

• Experience of working in corporate taxes.

• A great teammate with an open, collaborative, and proactive approach, willing to test new ideas and embrace change, looking for opportunities to identify and address key issues and simplify existing processes.

• A solid grounding in either UK corporate tax or funds/investment taxation but is adaptable and able and keen to broaden out their tax knowledge.
