Description:
A crucial aspect of the role is to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the Glasgow School of Art, including academic staff, professional services, and external collaborators.
Principal duties include:
- Support the promotion, coordination and delivery of a portfolio of events, initiatives and resources to enhance the student experience and engagement of all students.
- Initiate and coordinate the planning and delivery of annual events, including Welcome Week, Independent Study Weeks, and transition events.
- Develop and coordinate the production of annual student-facing digital resources, including the Pre-enrolment Gateway, Central Student Handbook, Welcome & Induction site and Programme Indicative Costs.
- Manage and coordinate requests for information from across schools and professional services to support academic and event planning and production of resources.
- Liaise closely with the marketing and recruitment team on planning and communications with students and the wider academic community to ensure cohesive planning, enrich student experience and effectively promote engagement with events and resources.
- Take an active lead on, collate and respond to staff and student feedback via identified and appropriate channels to support developments and inform forward planning.
- Support the Head of Academic Development with departmental objectives, initiatives and the production of committee papers and reports.
- Contribute to developing a collaborative working environment and improving academic planning to maintain and enhance the quality of student experience.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have experience working in higher education and knowledge of student journeys from application through graduation.
A strong skillset is required to carry out this role, including experience in organising and planning events, excellent communication, planning and IT skills. The ability to influence, collaborate, problem-solve and manage multiple tasks is essential in this role.
