Student Development Administrator

 

Description:

The Student Development Administrator supports the Student Development Office in the planning and delivery of cohort building initiatives, academic and professional skills training, career development opportunities, professional development awards/certificates and coaching for students in the School of Social and Political Science. This role will provide administrative and logistical support to students, staff, and external organisations involved in the delivery of academic teaching and/or professional development activities. This role will also provide support for the many student funds held by the Student Development Office, including processing applications, financial payments and corresponding with external suppliers for invoicing. The ideal candidate will enjoy working under pressure to consistently provide excellent and timely standards of support to both students and staff.

This post is open ended from January 2025.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week). We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote within the UK and regular on-campus working, however a majority of working hours will be on-campus and office based.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including confident telephone manner and high standard of written English and numeracy skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Resourcefulness and ability to use initiative
  • Excellent all-round secretarial skills (including MS Word, spreadsheets, email)
