Totally Urgent Care Division is a leading provider of national urgent care and out of hospital services following the integration of Vocare and Greenbrook. We have an exciting opportunity for Streaming Practitioners (Nurse or Paramedic) to join our team on a permanent or bank basis to suit your needs, based at our Urgent Treatment Centre within South Tyneside Hospital.

We are looking for registered Nurses or Paramedics who have a minimum of 2 years post registration experience, 1 of which must have been in a primary care environment, NHS111, Emergency Department, Urgent Care Centre, MAU/EAU or other first contact setting, with evidence of excellent assessment skills.

Working as a Streaming Practitioner within the UTC, you will undertake assessment of a range of health and clinical needs of the patient within scope of competence and using clinical practice skills and own clinical judgement to diagnose, refer or discharge patients.

 

Your day to day…
 

  • To assess patients, collate health information and make safe and accurate clinical decisions regarding a patient journey in Urgent and Emergency care.
  • Recording a brief history and observations and then signposting patients to the most appropriate service for their healthcare needs.
  • Use knowledge and experience plan and provide skilled and competent care to meet the patient’s health and social care needs.
  • Ensure that patients receive high quality clinical care, delivered in a timely manner.
  • Signposting to other health services according to clinical need.
     

Qualifications, Experience & Training…
 

  • Registered Nurse or Registered Paramedic
  • Minimum 2 year post registration experience, 1 of which must have been in a primary care environment, NHS111, Emergency Department, Urgent Care Centre, MAU/EAU or other first contact setting, evidence of excellent assessment skills
  • Advanced clinical assessment skills including history taking/clinical examination or willingness to undertake training
  • Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates reflective and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to assimilate large quantities of information quickly and accurately and communicate it clearly
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Able to use information technology and communications equipment efficiency
