Sr. Backend Software Engineer

Description:

We are seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join our Platform Integrations Team!

The data platform at Addepar brings together data from multiple sources to enable a single source of truth for data at Addepar using a Data Lakehouse. We are a vertical team that works cross-team within Addepar to implement solutions on the platform that solve critical business problems.

As an engineer on the team you will partner with other teams at Addepar to understand their business needs. You’ll contribute to increasingly challenging engineering projects with the ultimate goal of enabling solutions on and effective use of the data platform.

As stewards of the platform, we align with the company's broader goals and are tasked with promoting best practices and consistent use across Addepar. This is a highly visible and impactful team within the company, that comes with strong exposure across the company and with many learning opportunities.

Our engineering team primarily works with PySpark, Python, AWS, and Terraform. We use Agile methodologies to deliver on business outcomes.

What You’ll Do
 

• Collaborate across Addepar teams to understand business needs
• Design, implement, and deliver significant projects on our data platform to solve complex business problems
• Advocate for standard methodologies and improvements in code and processes
   

Who You Are
 

• Several years experience as a professional software engineer
• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Proficiency with object oriented programming languages
• Proficiency with relational databases
• Rapid learner with strong problem solving skills
• Interest in building data pipelines and in working with Big-data
