Software Engineer

Description:

You’re an experienced developer with a track record in delivering web-based applications. You'll be comfortable in working across all aspects of this from building User Interfaces, to designing API's, to deployment and DevOps best practices.

You will be able to demonstrate a passion for quality and your approach to achieving that, whether that's through TDD, BDD, Evolutionary Design etc.

You’ll spend time getting to know our target users and understanding where the product can be leveraged to turn user value into business value, quickly.

You’ll be comfortable using a range of technologies and languages. Being part of a small team means that you’ll need to be comfortable writing code, deploying it, testing it, and generally being a go-to person for the technical implementation.
Crucially, you’ll know why it’s important to understand the complete context around what we build. You’ll be as comfortable whiteboarding new functionality and user journeys as you will be in a dev environment or figuring out why the latest deployment failed.

With the Team, you’ll help us to build the right thing, and build the thing right!

Main responsibilities

• Developing and troubleshooting all 10 services that comprise the RM Compare suite in their respective languages (Python, Javascript, PHP, Java)
• Deploying any and all of the RM Compare services using our Terraform based process and troubleshooting using the AWS console if necessary
• Working in a cross-functional team you'll be expected to spend time getting to know everyone else's role and how they contribute to the product’s success
• Adopting our Lean Startup mantra of "Build, Measure, Learn", striving to make your feedback loop as short as possible
