Software Developer

Description:

Spatial Days needs to recruit a Software Developer to join our team. This would be a full-time position working from our office in Aldermaston, Berkshire with flexible home working as agreed.

You will be working as part of a specialist team to rapidly develop, optimise and maintain web-based GIS and Earth Observation software solutions for new and existing customers. Ideally you will have a B.Sc. or Masters in Computing or Computer Science, be proficient in Python and Javascript and have some experience of working with open-source GIS technologies. You should also have the right to work full-time in the UK.

Mandatory skills:

· HTML, SCSS (or other Javascript framework)

· ReactJS, NodeJS

· Python Flask/Django with associated libraries (e.g. Numpy, SQLAlchemy, Requests, Dask etc)

· PostgreSQL

· Nginx or Apache

· Github, Docker

· Windows, Linux

· Kubernetes

· Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)

Nice-to-have skills:

· Queueing technologies (e.g. Redis, Celery)

· Python geospatial libraries (e.g. GDAL, OGR, Shapely, PyProj, Rasterio, GeoPandas etc)

· OpenLayers, Leaflet

· GeoServer

· WordPress

Soft skills:

· Motivated to learn and apply new skills and technologies

· Entrepreneurial and enthusiastic in outlook

· Ability to work collaboratively in a technical team

· Experience across all phases of the software product lifecycle

· Experience of the Agile software development method

· Ability to work under pressure
