We are looking to expand our Environment and Society (E+S) services and capability. There is an opportunity to inspire the creation and management of the engagement and communications activities in the areas of climate, environment, social value and sustainability. Amplifying Mott MacDonald’s reputation and leadership in these technical areas – this role will underpin our marketing and communications (including storytelling and messaging) with our business actions, policy, public affairs and reputation management.

Reputation
- Segment key audience groups, with the aim of increasing our understanding of them and the most effective ways to engage them
- Work with project teams and subject matter experts to identify and shape “Mott MacDonald Thinking” on key topic areas, developing and disseminating consistent messaging and lines for relevant employees in the business
- Work with our c-suite on E&S strategy and thought leadership/case studies to ensure alignment with business goals
- Lead on testing, analysing, measuring and continuously improving our content and channels approach, using data to inform decisions
- Own the marketing calendar – understand priority workstreams, crossovers in key messages (with the aim of reducing ‘noise’) and increase audience impact
- Develop and/or support the creation of positioning papers, policy notes, thought leadership and case studies
- Develop a people and project-based storytelling approach to our content, with the aim of increasing colleague engagement across our work in climate, environment, social and sustainability
- Support our Global E& S lead and practice leaders to develop an external engagement plan to “build our right to win” through profile-raising, influencing, engagement and advocacy – working with internal teams and external agencies as required
Revenue & Relationships
- Understand client needs and drivers to help shape new compelling value propositions
- Liaise with E&S teams across different regions to connect global and regional initiatives

- Convene, facilitate and run stakeholders groups to shape direction or gain consensus;
- Develop and contribute to events, workshops, working groups, presentations, media, papers etc;
- Build and maintain an extensive network across clients, buyers, influencers, policy makers and the Mott MacDonald Group.
- Work with Group Marketing/External Engagement Teams to support regional roll-outs.
- Programme/project manage work packages in line with budgets and timescales;
- Work closely with the Communications & Marketing team to develop impactful collateral to support engagement and advocacy activities.
- Design and develop engagement and advocacy for major pursuits or projects, working closely with WIN/bid teams, to ensure clarity of message and policy
Strategy & Reporting
- Lead on the production of internal and external reports, and ensure reporting requirements are met
- Work with the E&S Global Leader and team to shape and sell the business strategy and vision for the region to key stakeholders and staff
Candidate specification
- Strategic and operational experience in all areas of Environment & Society
- A good knowledge of the infrastructure sector and clients
- Your communication skills must be top-notch – adopting our tone of voice and capable of distilling complex information into clear, audience appropriate messaging
- A consistent record of building strong, effective working relationships, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels – within a global organisation
- Adept at identifying and analysing problems, evaluating options and employing sound decision making skills
- Ability to develop and present ideas and arguments clearly and concisely to various audiences
- Excel in working collaboratively, across the company, to achieve our goals and objectives
- Demonstrable ability to plan and lead multiple projects with own and others' input, balancing short term requirements with longer term outcomes, prioritising tasks to meet overall objectives and differentiating the 'urgent' from the 'important
