The Field Service Engineer - Engines Job Itself Which Is Home/field Based. You Will Provide Service And Support To Your Allocated Customers In Chippenham, Reading & M4 Corridor. This Work Will Include But Not Be Limited To Accurate Fault Diagnosis, Troubleshooting, Engine Rectification And Preventative Maintenance. More Specifically
- Accurate fault diagnosis of diesel engines, following recognised and published procedures and determination of cost-effective and practical repair outcomes.
- Maintenance, repair, and overhaul of engines - primarily on customer sites but also in workshops following the procedures outlined in operating manuals or workshop job cards.
- Keeping the internal customer services team advised of job status and ensuring that service management system (SMS) procedures are completed on time enabling service work to be invoiced as soon as possible.
- Using the parts identification system to order parts avoiding duplication and ensuring proper control and security of vehicle spares stock.
- Completing warranty paperwork and returning parts
You will have
As Field Service Engineer - Engines you will have a healthy mix of the following:
- Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering e.g. Mech. ONC or equivalent recognised time-served apprenticeship. Some electrical qualifications Attainments: Vocational assessments or vocational training in Mechanical Engineering. e.g., NVQ Level 3.
- Experience with hydraulic systems and components, ability to diagnose repair and maintain hydraulic systems.
- 1-3 years’ time served in maintenance and service of similar engines.
- Experience of having worked in a customer service environment.
- Natural diagnostic ability and attention to detail, flexible approach to the role e.g. hours and travel, a positive approach to problem-solving, ability to act on own initiative, able to talk to customer representatives and company representatives at all levels.
- Awareness of health and safety and good housekeeping.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
