Description:
NHBC is seeking a passionate and skilled Senior Trainer to join our team and deliver high-quality carpentry apprenticeship training. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of apprentices in the construction industry, specifically in the new-build housing sector. The role requires a balance of hands-on training, mentoring, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and NHBC accreditations.
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver and coordinate apprenticeship training programs to meet qualitative and quantitative targets effectively.
- Maintain NHBC’s accreditations, including Ofsted and ESFA standards, while ensuring quality assurance procedures are adhered to.
- Proactively monitor apprentice progress and compliance with SEND policies, as well as Ofsted and ESFA requirements.
- Consult with customers to identify learning needs and adapt training to accommodate specific requirements.
- Support the collation and reporting of KPIs and feedback mechanisms to improve training outcomes.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to raise trade practice standards across apprenticeships.
- Ensure apprenticeships align with NHBC standards and provide relevant trade-level support for timber frame, modular build, or interior fit-out projects.
Qualifications and Skills:
Required:
- Minimum Level 2 qualification in Site Carpentry.
- English and Mathematics qualifications meeting apprenticeship standards.
- Proven experience in the construction industry, particularly new-build housing.
- Full UK driving license.
- Skilled in delivering apprenticeship programs with successful outcomes.
Preferred:
- Teaching qualification or actively working toward one.
- Membership of an appropriate professional institution (support provided by NHBC).
- Familiarity with timber frame, modular build, or interior fit-out projects.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and coaching skills at all levels.
- Strong interpersonal abilities to influence and motivate apprentices and stakeholders.
