Following a period of high performance, the Global Tax Team of 60+ professionals has steadily expanded with the creation of several new roles in London over the last few years. This particular role comes with two direct reports and focuses on UK tax compliance and tax reporting issues for the group. Reporting to the Regional Tax Director, and working closely with the UK Tax Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Management of UK corporate tax returns, personally reviewing prepared returns
- Additional UK corporate tax compliance requirements such as Corporate Tax Payments Corporate Interest Restriction returns, UK loss compliance and group relief management
- Leading the UK group reporting requirements for half-year and year end as well as supporting other countries in the EMEA region
- Reviewing IFRS tax disclosures in local statutory accounts
- Management of UK withholding tax returns
- Tax risk management – business risk review support, senior accounting officer compliance (“SAO”), corporate criminal offence compliance (“CCO”), transfer pricing documentation support, maintenance of the UK tax risk register and looking to find opportunities for process improvements and simplifications
- Supporting the management of relationships with UK external stakeholders, including day to day interactions with HMRC including tax audits
- Supporting the UK tax team with tax issues on dividend management, intra-group funding management and other ad hoc tax matters
- Supporting day to day engagement employment tax and indirect tax matters, supported by technical specialists with the Global Tax team
- Supporting with the tax considerations and practical implications of setting up new entities, closing entities, disposing of entities, acquiring entities and changes in tax residency
- Analysis of the financial and practical implications of new OECD tax proposals
- Management of OECD Pillar Two calculation and associated tax return compliance for the group return filed in the UK and QDMT returns filed in the region
- Tax accounting input into group finance technology improvement projects
About you:
- ACA/CTA qualified with at least five years post qualified experience
- Previous in-house tax accounting experience preferred
- UK corporate tax trained, Big 4 or Top Tier
- Proven UK corporate tax compliance experience, ideally FTSE100 or large complex MNC
- Ability to work collaboratively in a complex multinational environment
