The University of Warwick is offering a unique opportunity to join the European Commission-funded project, MultiLX. This international research initiative explores multilingualism, language revitalization, and creative practices across six diverse case studies in Europe. As a Research Fellow, you will contribute to innovative research on language ideologies and semiotic practices through fieldwork, data analysis, and collaboration with artists, young people, and researchers.

This role offers the chance to work with a vibrant, interdisciplinary team across nine leading universities in Europe and contribute to policy-oriented research. You will also play a pivotal role in organizing the Creative Arts Lab, fostering partnerships between researchers and creative practitioners to produce artistic outputs for policymakers.

🔹 Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to research on language ideologies and semiotic practices
  • Conduct fieldwork and data analysis
  • Collaborate with young people, artists, and researchers to produce impactful outputs
  • Organize the Creative Arts Lab, creating partnerships between researchers and creative practitioners
  • Support the creation of artistic outputs that communicate research findings to policymakers
  • Contribute to the overall success of the MultiLX project

🔹 About You:

  • A PhD in Applied Linguistics, Anthropology, Sociology, Modern Foreign Languages, or a related discipline
  • Strong skills in data collection and analysis
  • Excellent communication abilities and a commitment to collaborative research
  • Experience with digital technologies and proficiency in European or non-European languages (advantageous)
  • Strong interest in multilingualism, language revitalization, and creative practices
