Description:
Gallagher Re are seeking to recruit a Senior Reinsurance Broker. You'll be working within the APAC treaty team, with a focus on Casualty business; Day to day running of major client casualty accounts; engagement with International Casualty Practice Group; delivering insight, market intelligence and strategic feedback to clients across the broader APAC region; building market relationships in London and developing client partnerships.
How You'll Make An Impact
- Provide front line client servicing (including placing treaty reinsurance, negotiating amendments & improvements to cover, supply of market information, facilitating client/reinsurer meetings etc.)
- Work with other Gallagher Re offices and teams across the APAC region on a wide range of treaty placements, business development opportunities and client management
- Build and grow relationships with underwriters in London and International Markets
- Assess market appetite for our client’s business and communicate to regional stakeholders
- Understand evolving client needs and contribute to thought-leadership, advising clients on:
- Efficient reinsurance structures with technical and market pricing
- Reinsurance purchasing strategies
- Prepare client and market presentations in Excel, Word and PowerPoint formats and work with colleagues to prepare RfP responses
- Engage with Risk Analysts and Actuaries
About You
- Ideally ACII or equivalent qualified, or working towards
- Strong track record of transactional insurance or reinsurance business
- Analytical and numerical skills
- Familiarity with the London and International Reinsurance market
- Sound knowledge of casualty lines of business and relevant topics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- 5+ years’ experience in the reinsurance market
- Will suit current Casualty Underwriters or Brokers (preferably with Treaty experience)
- Good negotiation skills
- Good attention to detail
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Energetic with a strong desire to learn new things
- Ability to multi task and prioritise
- Solution finding/problem solving
- Initiative and an eagerness to drive projects to a successful conclusion

- Cross-cultural experience
- Although not a prerequisite, Asian language skills and/or experience in APAC region
