Senior Registered Building Inspector

Description:

Capita Local Public Services is looking for a Senior Registered Building Inspector / Building Control Surveyor to help improve building safety and environmental standards. This role involves overseeing commercial and domestic projects, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and Safety Standards. You’ll work across hospitals, schools, housing developments, and other large-scale projects, contributing to safe, sustainable, and compliant construction practices.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Building Control & Compliance

• Conduct plan checking, site inspections, and compliance assessments.
• Make key decisions on applications, notices, and other regulatory matters under Building Act & Building Safety Regime.
• Ensure compliance with Building Regulations across a range of projects.

✅ Stakeholder Collaboration & Consultancy

• Work with partner agencies and authorities to ensure regulatory adherence.
• Provide technical guidance to contractors, developers, and local authorities.
• Upsell Capita’s Building Control and specialist services to enhance business growth.

✅ Regulatory Knowledge & Technical Expertise

• Keep up to date with legislation changes and industry best practices.
• Operate within Building Control software systems efficiently.
• Follow Building Control Quality Management System & Performance Standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

✔️ Strong experience in a Building Control department within a local authority or similar organization.
✔️ In-depth knowledge of Building Control legislation, regulatory changes, and compliance requirements.
✔️ Ability to interpret and apply regulations in commercial and domestic projects.
✔️ Proficiency in Building Control software and systems.
✔️ Excellent problem-solving skills and customer relationship management.

Job Benefits:

💰 Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum (DOE).
