Senior Quantity Surveyor

Description:

VolkerLaser, a specialist contractor in structural solutions for concrete and steel infrastructure, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its team on the prestigious HS2 Green Tunnel project in Chipping Warden. This site-based role offers a fantastic opportunity to be part of one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, delivering vital improvements in civil engineering.

You will be an integral part of the project team, responsible for cost control, commercial management, and contractual matters in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring experience with NEC contracts, strong commercial acumen, and ideally experience in civils or rail projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all commercial aspects of the project including valuations, variations, and cost forecasting.

• Ensure compliance with contractual terms and client requirements.

• Liaise with project managers and site staff to ensure accurate financial reporting and cost control.

• Prepare monthly reports and assist with the financial close-out of projects.

• Lead negotiations with clients and subcontractors, ensuring optimal financial outcomes.

• Support procurement activities and evaluate subcontractor performance.

• Manage and mitigate risks associated with project delivery.

Candidate Requirements:

• Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.

• Accredited course by RICS, CIOB, or ICES (or working towards accreditation).

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or infrastructure.

• High proficiency in NEC contract administration.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience on civils or rail projects is highly desirable.
