Senior Quantity Surveyor

Description:

Galliford Try is currently recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to join its Oak Facades Business. This role requires expertise in commercial and residential construction, contract management, and cost control. Based in Solihull or Uxbridge, the successful candidate will handle project financials, oversee subcontractor agreements, and ensure effective cost monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend tender handover meetings and manage cost-related aspects of secured projects.
• Develop contract budgets and profit/loss forecasts based on tender information.
• Conduct monthly budget monitoring and update financial records for works in progress.
• Prepare and submit interim Applications for Payment and Final Accounts.
• Oversee procurement of subcontractors, including agreements on rates and contracts.
• Ensure compliance with subcontract payment controls, variations, and claims.
• Maintain accurate project records, including site progress, documentation, and cost reconciliations.
• Identify delays and submit Notices of Delay, along with associated prolongation cost claims.
• Ensure alignment with Galliford Try’s objectives, liaising with various departments for operational efficiency.

Essential Requirements:

• Strong commercial and technical knowledge in quantity surveying.
• Experience managing commercial staff across multiple sites.
• Proven track record in residential and commercial sectors using various construction systems.
• Ability to work independently with excellent leadership qualities.
• Strong contract knowledge (JCT and industry standard contracts).
• Familiarity with Health & Safety policies and BMS commercial procedures.
