Description:
TSA Riley is actively seeking a chartered Senior Project Manager to join its Birmingham office and contribute to the successful delivery of large-scale and complex construction projects across the Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio, including high-rise residential developments, as well as projects in retail, healthcare, industrial, education, and commercial sectors.
In this full-time hybrid role, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for autonomously leading multiple projects from inception to completion, reporting directly to the Executive Director. The role demands exceptional project management capabilities, proactive risk management, and expert contractual and financial oversight to ensure that client objectives are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple construction projects across the Midlands, working closely with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Ensure project success through proactive programme and risk management, delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Prepare and administer full tender documentation for consultant and contractor appointments.
- Provide professional advice on procurement, cost solutions, programme strategies, and contractor selections.
- Fulfil the role of Employer’s Agent, ensuring all contract variations and financial changes are properly managed.
- Attend and/or chair project meetings, ensuring actions are documented and completed.
- Deliver comprehensive financial and progress reports, tailored to client requirements.
- Drive value engineering and standardisation processes to optimise project delivery efficiency.
- Develop and maintain delivery programmes in Microsoft Project, tracking key project deliverables.
- Mentor junior staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Key Requirements:
- Degree in Construction Project Management, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Professional Chartered Membership of RICS or CIOB (or working towards).
- Proven consultancy experience managing large-scale construction projects.
- Extensive experience across pre and post-contract project management.
- Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts (Design & Build and Traditional forms).
- Ability to manage stakeholders at all levels, nurturing long-term client relationships.
- Prior experience working across multiple sectors in the built environment, including residential, healthcare, retail, industrial, education, and commercial projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and develop junior staff.
