Senior Planner

 

Description:

Insight Recruitment is seeking multiple Senior Planners to join large-scale projects across the UK. This role is ideal for professionals experienced in Primavera P6 and Earned Value Management (EVM), with strong scheduling, project coordination, and risk analysis skills. Candidates will work on high-impact construction, infrastructure, and engineering projects, ensuring timely project execution and efficient resource management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Scheduling: Develop detailed baseline and master programs in Primavera P6, ensuring client approval.

  • Tender Programs: Create tender schedules aligned with project requirements.

  • Cost & Resource Management: Integrate cost and resource loading into project schedules.

  • Performance Tracking: Generate KPIs, SPI, CPI, manpower histograms, S-curves, and cash flow forecasts.

  • Project Monitoring: Update project schedules weekly, identifying risks, delays, and corrective measures.

  • Analysis & Reporting:

    • Conduct critical path and float analysis to assess project health.

    • Track progress using Earned Value Management (EVM) and generate reports.

    • Develop Time Impact Analysis (TIA) and Extension of Time (EOT) claims.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with clients, vendors, project managers, and key stakeholders.

  • Meetings & Communication: Attend weekly progress meetings, presenting schedule updates.

  • Subcontractor Review: Assess subcontractor schedules and develop look-ahead construction plans.

  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks to ensure project objectives are met.

  • Training & Mentorship: Guide junior planners, promoting knowledge-sharing and best practices.

  • Reporting: Prepare and issue weekly and monthly reports for clients and internal teams.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Planner in construction, infrastructure, or engineering projects.

  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and Earned Value Management (EVM).

  • Ability to develop and manage detailed project schedules with cost/resource integration.

  • Expertise in critical path analysis, float analysis, and delay assessments.

  • Familiarity with contract claims, EOTs, and TIA preparation.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills for stakeholder engagement.

  • Ability to analyze project risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

  • Experience preparing and presenting progress reports, KPIs, and dashboards.
