Entrust, a global leader in identity-centric security solutions, is seeking a Senior PKI Consultant to join their Cloud Services Team based in Newbury, UK. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions, supporting high-profile customers and contributing to Entrust’s EMEA Managed Services.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining customer-facing PKI platforms, providing expert third-line support, and driving operational excellence through process optimization and automation. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, consulting capabilities, and customer-facing skills, making it ideal for someone passionate about cybersecurity and cloud-based identity solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure Entrust PKI software according to established methodologies.
- Design and enhance customer-facing services, following PKI best practices.
- Work directly with customers to troubleshoot complex PKI-related issues and provide expert solutions.
- Lead Key Signing Ceremonies and manage certificate renewal processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve monitoring, automation, and service efficiency.
- Collaborate with Project Management to deliver technical components of customer projects on time.
- Evaluate and test new Entrust products in lab environments, recommending upgrades where appropriate.
- Ensure all services meet high availability and security requirements.
- Take technical ownership for key accounts and high-profile customers.
- Support on-call escalations and occasional out-of-hours issues.
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing within the team and assist with technical mentoring.
- Ensure adherence to data security standards and secure operational practices.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 3 years of experience with Linux OS (or equivalent Unix-based system).
- Experience with application integration in secure environments.
- Professional understanding of high availability and secure data center operations.
- Eligibility for UK Government Security Clearance (SC).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Desirable Skills:
- Hands-on experience with PKI technologies such as PrimeKey (EJBCA), RSA Certificate Manager, or Microsoft Active Directory Certificate Services.
- Familiarity with HSM devices (e.g., Thales Luna, nCipher Connect).
- Scripting experience (e.g., Bash, Regular Expressions).
- Experience with Windows Native Enrolment Service (WNES) and Microsoft Intune.
- Knowledge of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud services (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with automation tools like Ansible or Terraform.
- Exposure to SIEM solutions (e.g., Splunk).
- Basic programming knowledge (e.g., Java, C#).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, etc.).
Additional Information:
- This is a hybrid role, requiring regular attendance at Entrust’s Newbury office, so applicants must have their own transport.
- Occasional travel within the UK (up to 6 times per year) may be required to visit customers or datacenters.
