Senior Photographer

Description:

Next is seeking an experienced and creative Senior Photographer to join their fast-paced Photo Studio team. This role involves managing a team of in-house photographers and freelance talent, overseeing the full end-to-end process of asset creation, and maintaining the company's photographic vision and creative standards. The position will primarily focus on model/worn sets, but may involve other types of photography as well. This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative individual looking to step into a senior role or already experienced in a similar position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strong, clear, and aspirational creative guidance to the photography team.

• Maintain and evolve the aesthetics of the imagery through effective communication and support.

• Stay updated on new trends and approaches, ensuring the right creative approach for each shoot.

• Oversee multiple photographic sets, ensuring quality and output meet Next’s standards.

• Conduct performance reviews and regular 1-to-1s to support and develop junior team members.

• Collaborate with other Senior Photographers and the Creative Lead to achieve creative goals.

• Bring innovation and initiative to every project and process.

• Travel to other Next studios, external locations, and on-location shoots when required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in photography, including management experience.

• Expert knowledge of photography, lighting techniques, and retouching.

• High competence using Photoshop, Capture One, and MAC Operating systems.

• Familiarity with Canon cameras and various lighting kits, including Profoto and continuous lighting.

• Experience in directing models on set and providing training in photographic techniques.

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and develop a team.

• A creative flair with the ability to think outside the box and produce innovative ideas.

• Commercially minded and aware of retail fashion and lifestyle trends.

• E-commerce and editorial photography experience is essential.

• A supporting portfolio or website demonstrating expertise.

• Full UK driving license required.
