Description:
The role involves managing the annual Discover Uni dataset development, testing and release as well as supporting activities related to improving and updating the dataset.
Key responsibilities include overseeing routine maintenance, bug-fixing, improvements and testing of the Discover Uni website, as well as scoping out requirements for design, user testing and technical development of the service working closely with external suppliers and stakeholders. The aim is to design and deliver a service which meets the needs of prospective students and their advisors.
The role requires ongoing engagement with internal and external stakeholders and management of effective relations with suppliers and other external organisations to ensure information about the Discover Uni service is effectively shared, and that ongoing development plans and new student information site content, features and functionality are informed by the insight, views and opportunities arising from this engagement.
The key person attributes to fulfil this role include an excellent understanding and experience of working with complex data, an understanding of databases combined with an understanding of website development including the technical, UX, design, user testing, requirement scoping and testing.
In addition, the role requires excellent communication skills, particularly with the suppliers who host and develop the website, the website designers and user testers, the ability to exercise judgement in working with complex and sensitive information and effective supplier management.
Contract management experience is desirable. The post holder will contribute to and support the development of specific elements of the information, advice and guidance strategy as well as business planning and prioritisation. The post holder may support SRU projects from time to time.
