Senior Network Security Engineer

Locke & McCloud are looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer to join our client who is looking to grow their security engineering team! As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure for our client, and work with PaloAlto, Checkpoint, Juniper, and Fortinet technologies.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network security solutions using PaloAlto, Checkpoint, Juniper, and Fortinet technologies.
  • Configure, manage, and optimize firewalls from multiple vendors (PaloAlto, Checkpoint, Juniper, Fortinet) to safeguard our clients network against threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and maintain security policies, rulesets, and access controls to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of network resources.
  • Implement and manage intrusion detection and prevention systems to proactively identify and mitigate security threats.
  • Lead incident response efforts by investigating, analyzing, and mitigating security incidents and breaches.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk assessments to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
  • Implement and manage network access control solutions to enforce security policies and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Ensure that the organization complies with relevant security standards and regulations, such as PCI DSS, ISO27001, and GDPR.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network security configurations, policies, and procedures.

 

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience working within Network Security, ideally as an Engineer or Consultant.
  • Strong expertise in PaloAlto, Checkpoint, Juniper, and Fortinet firewall technologies.
  • Proficiency in network security protocols and technologies, including VPNs, IDS/IPS, DNS security, and endpoint security.
  • Extensive knowledge of security best practices, industry standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with network monitoring and analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and document security projects.
