As a Senior Merchandise Planner for BestSecret, you will play an integral role in contributing to the overall company strategy, particularly within the Supply business unit that is responsible for the for the sourcing, procurement and in‐season trading of all products. In strong partnership with your buying counterpart, you will have the joint commercial ownership of a defined part of the business. You will be responsible for defining the financial KPI plan, that is reflective of the business strategy and steer the business against the plan while mitigating unforeseen risks and capturing additional opportunities. Reporting to the Head of Merchandising, you will bring planning excellence and analytical thinking, while successfully navigating the ever-changing environment of an expanding international business. Flexibility, adaptability, collaboration, critical-thinking and a commercial mindset will be key to being successful in this role.

Your responsibilities:
 

  • End-to-end responsibility in leading the commercial planning cycle for the defined part of the business in line with the BestSecret company strategy.
  • Defining the financial KPIs plan that is reflective of your business strategy and steers the business to achieve the plans, ensure that the right measures are taken to mitigate unforeseen risks and capture all business opportunities.
  • In conjunction with your buying counterpart, identify future opportunities, develop assortment strategies, and then execute against them.
  • Manage a weekly open-to-buy process to provide transparency and alignment with key stakeholders in a cross-functional team (Supply, Demand, Logistics). Challenge where necessary to make sure the busi-ness is being managed pro-actively.
  • Execute weekly / monthly / seasonal performance analysis and develop action plans to maximize growth, optimize profit and manage stock levels, using all available data points for informed decision making.
  • Participate in pricing, promotion, and mark-down decisions.
  • Build strong and collaborative relationships internally with other business functions and externally with relevant partners to help grow the business.
  • Act as functional expert for Junior Planners and Assistants and mentor less experienced members in the team.
  • Help evolve existing planning tools and processes where you see an opportunity to improve and stream-line. Propose new ways of thinking or approaching our rapidly evolving business model.

     

About you:
 

  • A degree in business administration or comparable business training.
  • 5+ years professional experience in Merchandise Planning, within an international e-commerce environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset and experienced in using planning and forecasting tools and systems.
  • An expert in using MS Excel and BI reporting tools and confident using other MS office applications.
  • Effective communicator - able to communicate messages clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences.
  • Able to work autonomously, results oriented and able to “think outside of the box”.
  • Solution orientated with an entrepreneurial attitude - thrives in a fast paced and growing business and acts proactively.
  • Adopts a collaborative way of working, forming strong relationships with internal and external stake-holders.
  • Fluent written and spoken business English.
