Senior Mechanical Designer

Description:

Cavendish Nuclear is looking for a Senior Mechanical Designer to join its team in Leicester. This role plays a key part in designing and developing mechanical solutions, resolving design issues, and providing technical governance in nuclear engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Design and develop mechanical solutions, resolving production and technical issues
✔ Act as a key point of contact for design-related issues and contribute to design reviews
✔ Allocate tasks and coordinate design teams effectively
✔ Promote cross-team collaboration and manage customer relationships
✔ Provide technical guidance and support to the design team
✔ Prepare engineering drawings in compliance with ISO standards
✔ Lead low-risk projects and develop innovative design solutions
✔ Stay up to date with industry best practices and engineering developments

Required Skills & Qualifications:

📌 Experience in a detailed design environment
📌 Proficiency in CAD tools and General Engineering Drawing Practices
📌 Experience in commercial or defence projects
📌 HNC or equivalent academic qualification in a relevant discipline

Security Clearance Requirement:

🔹 Must be eligible to achieve and maintain UK SC (Security Check) clearance
