Senior Library Assistant

Join us in this customer focused role based in our library at the Falmer campus. You will be supporting a team of public-facing staff and motivating them to provide excellent customer care. Part of your time will be spent at the busy Help Desk assisting customers to access library services using library systems and online resources; answering first level resource and IT queries; dealing with returned books. Other regular duties will include routine tasks such as circulation of stock, shelving and moving materials to maintain a safe and conducive study environment.

This is a permanent post, and part of a job share. The post is 15 hours per week, and the working days are Monday (8.15-4.15pm) and Tuesday (9-5pm), though occasional variations in times to be agreed in advance. Also part of the position is regular Saturday working – approximately once a month - for which appropriate enhancements and time off in lieu is given.
