Description:
As the Senior International Communications Officer, you will be at the forefront of our international marketing efforts, working closely with retailers, distributors, and overseas colleagues. Your primary mission will be to collaborate with sales managers and customers across Europe to plan and execute compelling communications campaigns that not only drive sales but also elevate the Penguin Random House brand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective marketing campaigns that promote our titles in both physical bookstores and online channels. This includes creating and managing title-specific as well as larger brand and themed promotions.
- Balance customer needs with the priorities of our diverse publishing divisions, identifying and executing commercially important initiatives.
- Gain an in-depth understanding of your allocated territories, continuously seeking new communications opportunities to enhance our market presence.
- Design engaging promotional materials for print and online, such as catalogue adverts, point-of-sale materials, and digital assets.
- Partner with our US counterparts on joint campaigns for major shared titles.
- Engage with local media, journalists, and influencers to effectively spread our message, arranging author interviews, visits, and events.
- Promptly respond to customer needs and requests via email and face-to-face meetings, ensuring excellent service.
- Report local territory marketing activities to the International sales team and UK divisions, contributing to formal reports for authors and agents, and providing regular updates.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience at the Communications Executive level, ideally with exposure to international customers.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.
- Experience working in open markets with multiple editions on sale.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and present confidently.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
