Description:
The A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet is a £850 million improvement scheme commencing main construction towards the latter part of 2022 and with an open to traffic date of 2026. The scheme involves the creation of a new three tier junction at the existing Black Cat roundabout, over 10 miles of new dual carriageway along with 18 bridge structures to be created, one of which is a viaduct over the Great River Ouse.
You’ll:
- Join our Project based digital delivery team and manage a team of GIS Analysts.
- Empower Project Delivery with the development of innovative, integrated GIS solutions.
- Deliver against GIS requirements, create opportunities and develop a “think with the end in mind” mindset.
- Work closely with the Project digital team to enable knowledge sharing, alignment of processes and delivery of key responsibilities through an integrated GIS-BIM focus.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Set and deploy GIS development workflows and best practice to support project delivery.
- Maintain & Develop the Web-GIS Portal and geospatial Common Data Environment for the project.
- Manage the relationship and support engagement with software suppliers.
- Maintain our current GIS environment, including standards, guidance, training, user access and information contents.
What you'll have:
- Undergraduate degree or an appropriate professional qualification in Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Geography, Environmental Sciences, Data Science or Software Development
- MSc in Geospatial Sciences, GIS, Digital Engineering or GIS related discipline; preferable but not essential
- 5+ years of professional GIS implementation
- Strong proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Suite, open-source GIS and an awareness of current industry trends
- Experience with programming languages & spatial databases (e.g., Python, JavaScript) (essential)
- Experience with UML modelling notation and tools, and ArcGIS Server / ArcSDE administration.
- Experience with ETL tooling such as FME.
- Knowledge of database management systems and spatial databases.
