Senior Front End Developer

As a Senior Front-End Developer, your role will be pivotal in driving our mission to continuously deliver and support innovative and effective solutions for Hampshire residents. You'll be at the forefront of our journey to improve our website and web applications, working alongside a talented team, responsible for designing, developing and maintaining the front-end user interface (UI). You will be part of our agile development team, engineering web services that are responsive across multiple channels, devices, browsers and platforms, and also building web front-end prototypes.

This role will be based at our Winchester offices, however as part of Hampshire County Councils Open Workplace Policy, the successful candidate can undertake their work between home and the office (a hybrid approach) depending upon operational requirements.

We are looking for an experienced and agile IT professional with a range of web development skills, specifically front-end development and web performance. This includes HTML, CSS, JavaScript (and libraries such as jQuery), XML and JSON. It is important that you have previous experience in building robust and accessible interfaces that work for as many users as possible and meet high web accessibility standards and online accessibility best practices.
