We have a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified accountant to join our Asset Management Finance Reporting Team in our Central Cardiff Office.
As a Senior Finance Analyst you will support the extensive reporting requirements across PMC. This will include monthly management reporting, quarterly board financial reporting packs and annual financial statements. You will also gain exposure to reporting and monitoring a wide range of financial data, from monthly results to liquidity and capital forecasts and various other financial metrics.
In addition, you will also work within our Fund Accounting Team who are responsible for controlling and maintaining the accounting records of PMC funds.

What you'll be doing:
- Assisting with month end processes including the preparation of month end accounting journals to accurately reflect accruals, amortisations, cashbooks and adjustment postings as required.
- Assisting with the preparation of detailed monthly reporting packs that highlight the key drivers of performance of the entity. This will include analysis of the data to highlight any areas for investigation and liaising with other teams including revenue or expenses teams to ensure the accuracy of the data.
- Understanding the balance sheet of the entity, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, and ensuring the swift investigation of unexpected items through liaising with the relevant teams.
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly processes including intercompany payments, operational errors schedules, cashflow forecast, etc.
- Assisting with the quarterly reporting process including OneStream, VAT and Solvency II deliveries. As well as preparing the quarterly financial reporting packs for submission to the entity Board meetings.
- Assisting with the preparation of annual statutory accounts and proactively liaising with external auditors to ensure thorough responses are provided to any questions raised during the audit process.
- Ensuring that we keep up to date documentation of processes, risks and controls.
- Ensuring, in conjunction with the Group Tax team, that taxes (including corporation tax and VAT) are accounted for accurately in the applicable entities' ledger.
- Responding to queries from stakeholders across the L&G Group, ensuring they are delivered in accordance with the requested specifications and deadlines.
- Assisting with projects that improve the efficiency/productivity and/or raise the profile of the Fund Accounting team.
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
- Part-Qualified/Student Accountant who is actively studying towards ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualification (or equivalent)
- Strong numeracy skills and comfort using key financial concepts are essential to the role.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience using PowerPoint and Word is required. We will also expect knowledge of SUN to be developed within role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders across Asset Management and the wider L&G Group.
- A willingness to openly share views and findings with other team members and take on an active role in team meetings and discussions with management.
- Ability to manage a variety of different deliverables concurrently and cope with periods of high pressure (this will be especially prevalent during the busy month-end period)
- Ability to manage time effectively, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines during key points in the financial reporting calendar.
- Ability to work independently to identify, investigate and resolve issues/enhance processes.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is a must, with a constant commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to accurately handle large volumes of financial data, manipulate the data for use in other financial or operational processes.
