Join our team at The Hunslet Club, a youth organisation dedicated to fostering the physical, social, and educational development of young individuals in Leeds and its surrounding areas. As a Senior Financial Administrator, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission by managing financial operations and ensuring the efficient allocation of resources.
**Responsibilities:**
Maintaining the sales and purchase ledgers for the charity and its subsidiaries
Monthly Reconciliation of bank accounts and the sales and purchase ledgers
Raising and processing sales and purchase invoices, cross referencing purchase orders
Credit control.
Working with and maintaining relevant spreadsheets.
Supporting month-end and year-end processes, facilitating timely and accurate reporting of financial and management information
Handling of cash across the business and daily banking
Posting nominal journals
Posting prepayments & accruals
Balance sheet reconciliations
Handling petty cash requests taking responsibility for cash flow and maintenance of accurate cash records including reconciliations for the Tuck Shop
Assist with the monthly payroll process
Maintain cashbooks and Sales Day Books for 3 companies
Complete quarterly VAT returns
Liaise with HMRC and handle any documentation/queries
Monitor income and expenditure for various areas of the business
Assist the Operations & Finance Manager with annual audits
Support the CEO and wider management team as required
Essential:
Experience using Sage accounting software
A good understanding of bookkeeping and accountancy procedures
Ability to make recommendations in process improvement
Enthusiastic, committed, and a fast learner with previous experience in a busy environment (at least two years experience of similar work typically gained working as part of a finance team)
Computer literate with an aptitude for numbers
Strong communication skills with the ability to facilitate the resolution of issues
Ability to work with individuals across departments and liaise with external customers and contacts
Solid organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload
Able to work on own initiative and to tight timescales
High level of personal and professional commitment
Someone who can be relied upon to work with minimal day-to-day supervision, maintaining their motivation to process a high volume of transactions reliably and accurately.
