Senior Fellow In Paediatric Emergency Department

We are delighted to advertise for a Senior Fellow in Paediatric Emergency Medicine here at UHS.

You will be working alongside an enthusiastic team of Paediatric Emergency Medicine consultants, trainees, nurses and allied health professionals to deliver our emergency care service for the children of the Southampton area as well as working the regional Major Trauma Centre. We are a busy department that sees over 35000 children a year and the single front door for all ill and injured infants, children and young people at the trust.

This role(s) is on the dedicated CED middle grade rota. The successful applicant will deliver clinical time in CED developing their skills in Paediatric Emergency Medicine with dedicated time to develop skills in an area of their choosing, for example Quality Improvement, Trauma, Simulation etc. This post would be ideal for someone who has completed basic paediatric or EM training and is keen to develop further skills in Paediatric Emergency Medicine.

You will be providing clinical service to the Children’s Emergency Department the full shift Middle Grade rota (days, mids, twilights, nights). This work will predominantly include clerking new patients and some reviews of patients in out short stay unit. You may also be asked to help the team in looking after acutely sick or injured children in resus.

You will also have full access to the rich and varied teaching programme in Children’s ED and the Children’s Hospital. You will be allocated an educational supervisor for your time with us. You will have fellowship time within a discussed area of interest.
