Description:
As the CMA nears our 10 year anniversary, we have an exciting opportunity working as part of our Senior Leadership team to deliver strategic leadership to the CMA’s Markets directorate and make a real impact, driving market outcomes that benefit businesses and people across the UK.
About The CMA
We help people, businesses, and the UK economy by promoting competitive markets and tackling unfair behaviour. Our work is wide ranging, ambitious and often new and challenging.
Our Markets function is a core part of the CMA’s work. We continue to use our powers to carry out market studies and investigations across a range of sectors, which continues to deliver real impact for people, as seen most recently in our work on Road Fuel, Housebuilding, Groceries and Veterinary Services.
The role
You will be responsible for developing and delivering the CMA’s portfolio of markets work, working closely with the CEO and Executive Director to set the overall strategic direction of the Markets directorate.
You will develop a strong pipeline of prospective market studies, investigations and projects, focusing on delivering robust, timely and high impact outcomes.
As an inspiring and motivational leader, you will build and maintain the required skills, expertise, and diversity within the Markets directorate, providing a clear vision and a supportive and empowering leadership style.
As a key member of the CMA’s Senior Leadership Team, you will be expected to play an active role in the ongoing corporate management and development of the organisation.
You will also be a member of cross-CMA Committees, such as the Resource Pipeline and Portfolio Committee (RPPC) and sit on steering groups for key projects.
