Description:

The University of Warwick is seeking an outstanding Senior Developer to join its Learning Systems team within the Teaching & Learning Portfolio (Information & Digital Group). This role offers a fantastic opportunity to shape the learning experience for thousands of students, driving forward innovation in a dynamic, supportive, and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership for the enhancement and operational support of the University's core Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and auxiliary systems.
  • Develop, integrate, and support educational platforms, ensuring a seamless digital learning experience.
  • Troubleshoot issues, apply relevant fixes, and create new features to optimize the University’s learning systems.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure the coherence and robustness of the digital learning services.
  • Work within Agile/Scrum methodologies to drive the successful delivery of digital solutions.
  • Stay ahead of emerging educational technologies and align the University’s learning platforms with evolving needs.
  • Produce clean, scalable, and well-documented code to improve system functionality.
  • Ensure the VLE and related tools remain user-friendly, reliable, and aligned with the University’s goals.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Technical Expertise in Moodle, lecture capture systems, and other educational technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.
  • Experience in system integration and development with a focus on scalability and documentation.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, capable of working effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Agile/Scrum experience, with the ability to deliver solutions efficiently.
  • A customer-focused approach, ensuring that the University’s digital platforms enhance student learning experiences.
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset, staying current with new technologies and industry best practices.
