Description:
In this role, you’ll also contribute to infrastructure standards and change initiatives. By proposing service improvements and staying up to date with emerging technologies, you’ll play a key role in driving forward our technological and analytical advancements.
You’ll be a real team player, engaging in interactive and collaborative knowledge exchange, sharing your expertise and learning from your colleagues. You’ll be curious to learn more about Scottish Water’s business and the pivotal role of our Strategy & Regulation directorate.
What you’ll need
You should be skilled at finding patterns and trends in real-world data, turning complex analytical results into clear, actionable business insights that are easy for others to understand, even if they aren't experts in analytics. Experience with MS Cloud design and support, especially with MS 365 and Azure, is also important.
You’ll need a degree or equivalent experience in a numerate field like Statistics, Mathematics, Computing Science, or Software Engineering is required. Practical experience in the following areas - user interface design, interdependence and relationships in data, and measuring correlation - is essential.
You’ll also have experience with programming languages such as R, Python, MATLAB, or other object-oriented languages, and a track record with MS Azure, SQL, Data Factory, and other cloud computing services.
On top of that, it’s a plus (but not absolutely essential) if you have experience building data ingestion pipelines, are familiar with agile project delivery methods and DevOps, and have an understanding of UI/web development, Databricks, and Lakehouse.
Looking out for you
While the work we do is important, we know it’s not the only thing that matters. That’s why we make sure you have everything you need to find a good work-life balance.
You’ll get plenty of time to recharge with 38 days of holiday every year (including public holidays). And you can even buy five more if you need a little extra time. You can also take paid time off to volunteer in your community.
When it comes to major life events we have family-friendly policies around adoption, maternity, and parental leave. And for the everyday? We embrace flexible working.
For your future, there’s our defined benefits, contribution pension scheme (the ‘know-what-you’ll-get-when-you-retire’ kind), as well as life insurance.
As for some nice extras? You can expect an annual company bonus. Not to mention access to SW Splash – handy rewards that can save you money on holidays, bills, and shopping.
