We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Senior Climate Risk Manager.

 

The Senior Climate Risk Manager will play an active role in HSBC UK’s approach to Climate Risk. The successful candidate will identify and manage impacts from Climate change and will analyse how this can affect the risk management framework, risk appetite and data infrastructure.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Assist in the implementation of HSBC UK’s approach to Climate Risk, including the delivery of the Climate Risk Programme, as part of a Group-led programme.
  • Successfully influence and liaise with senior stakeholders on matters related to Climate Risk in HSBC UK.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership to influence Climate Risk approaches and solutions.
  • Identify solutions to emerging risk issues, changing priorities, projection completion issues and areas of conflict.
  • Clearly formulate and communicate conclusions and will recommend further actions where required.

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience of climate risk is required.
  • Must have experience within the First or Second Line of defence.
  • Proven experience and capability to liaise, influence and attain buy-in from senior stakeholders.
  • Must have a thorough interest in climate risk and will continuously review information on upcoming climate changes that can have a potential effect on the financial sector.
  • Knowledge of HSBC’s risk and control framework including the use and application of risk appetite tools.
