Description:
Hawk 3 Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Chemical Process Engineer with electrical knowledge to join a global manufacturing company based in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire. This newly created role is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and technically strong engineer to drive process scale-up, process optimisation, and equipment installation at a dynamic and growing site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Scale-Up Processes from R&D to full manufacturing and market release, ensuring effective technology transfer.
- Process epoxy and polyurethane compounds, pastes, and liquid chemistries.
- Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing teams to conduct manufacturing capability studies and risk assessments, taking actions to mitigate identified risks.
- Develop manufacturing and testing processes focusing on safety, quality, and repeatability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing and quality issues relating to methods, processes, tooling, equipment, and product design.
- Develop and train operators and blenders using structured operating procedures.
- Specify, source, install, and commission new production equipment and machinery.
- Drive process improvement projects to enhance Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Deliver continuous improvement initiatives to achieve or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs).
Key Skills & Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. Equivalent proven experience at process engineer level will also be considered.
- Hands-on approach with willingness to participate in practical, cross-functional work.
- Strong understanding of chemical blending processes within manufacturing.
- Demonstrated experience managing or significantly contributing to complex, multi-faceted projects.
- Technical expertise in a range of production equipment, including writing processes for both manual operations and automated HMI systems.
- Strong project management skills covering planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Analytical thinker with a problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent numeracy, written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of technology trends to improve manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of finance principles such as budgeting and ROI calculations.
