Intellectually agile and keen to bring your strategy and brand skills to this exciting role with a successful and ambitious boutique consultancy which works with major FMCG and drinks clients in the UK and internationally, to help them turn their business ideas into effective and real growth plans. Started 10 years ago, the business is on 3–5 year journey to grow and scale its business, and seeks a senior consultant to join the team. This is all about helping clients to identify and unlock business ideas with real growth potential, working alongside client teams to build the strategies, process and capabilities needed to deliver change and growth - getting people behind projects, tackling barriers and bringing them to fruition. You’ll work across a range of projects from category & consumer segmentations, portfolio & brand strategy, brand/concept development strategy, even promotional effectiveness, integrating data and insights from multiple sources. This will include:

 

  • Leading projects with senior client stakeholders in marketing, strategy and insight functions
  • Identifying strategic options and recommending solutions to business problems
  • Developing strategics frameworks, processes and tools to bring projects to fruition
  • Developing and delivering client presentations that clearly communicate issues, ideas and actions
  • Analysing market and consumer insights and data to make clear recommendations
  • Preparing and facilitating client workshops with senior stakeholders
  • Managing projects and meetings with senior clients to test and validate output and build engagement
  • Developing client relationships and building future pipeline of work

 

Skills & Experience Checklist

 

With a background gained in strategy or brand/innovation consultancy and in one or more client-side roles, you’ll have worked on a wide range of projects with a focus on brand strategy, innovation, positioning and consumer insight. Your approach will combine strong analytical, creative and strategic thinking skills – able to get under the skin of market, consumer, shopper and competitor data – and work with clients to identify and recommend strategic growth options and solutions to business issues. Strong communications, presentation and relationship building skills are key: this is a role for someone who can challenge the thinking, run project teams and move things forward at a pace within a lively, small and entrepreneurial environment.

 

  • Strong appreciation of different approaches to manage behavioural change.
  • Excellent academics with a 2.1 degree or better from a leading university
  • Experience in strategic planning, leadership alignment and stakeholder management, developing the case for change, strategic communications and assessing business implications
  • Ability to lead people and build teams, empowering team members and bringing clarity and consensus to projects
  • Experience in preparing and facilitating client meetings and workshops
  • High standard of analytical and Excel skills to turn data into insight
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Self-starter, able and happy to work independently in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Highly collaborative, able to foster client relationships and bring teams together around solutions
  • Willingness to work primarily in the UK and travel globally on a regular basis
