The Senior Asset Risk & Lifetime Optimisation (ARLO) Engineer will direct one or more of the following areas:
The Asset Life Management project, assisting in decision-making for operational assets throughout lifetime and in extended life including co-ordination with Development for the purpose of repowering projects and support for decommissioning
The Asset Risk and Major Component Corrective Maintenance processes, supporting risk owners in the identification, mitigation and management of assetrelated risks and forecasting corrective maintenance spend. Reports and outputs from these processes reach Board and N-1 levels, and require co-ordination with Engineering and HSE stakeholders
The Risk-Based Maintenance Project, promoting development of maintenance strategies and standards considering asset health, lifetime expectations and risk-based/reliability-centred maintenance techniques
Various projects to develop tools facilitating deliverables above, including coordination of required information source
Main Responsibilities
Generate assumptions around asset lifetime forming a critical part of RWE AG-level business forecasting (impact M€10s/annum) for the mid-term and long-term planning processes in conjunction with Development, Engineering, Controlling and Investment & Valuation as necessary
Propose strategic lifetime direction for individual OPEA operational assets and provide supporting evidence for operational decisions regarding asset life in conjunction with Development, Engineering, Controlling and Investment & Valuation as necessary
Specify and operate systems and processes to monitor significant asset risks and asset health, record mitigation measures and improvement opportunities, communicating concise results and recommended actions appropriate to Operations leadership
Specify and operate systems and processes to forecast major component corrective maintenance expenditure based on theoretical and practical datasets
Develop risk-based/reliability-centred maintenance techniques to agree improvements to maintenance scope, schedule and technique with regional Operations stakeholders considering asset health and lifetime expectation
Act as a regional focal point for the topics of decommissioning, repowering, life extension, lifetime decisions, lifetime forecasting, maintenance optimisation, asset risk management and the associated tools, processes and information sources
Instruct junior team members in the delivery of ARLO objectives
Role Requirements
Suitable Engineering Degree or equivalent, plus experience in operations and maintenance or equivalent
Proven record of initiating and delivering business improvements
Experience in project management and senior management communication
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of renewable energy or generation assets
Detail-orientation, analytical and strategic mindset, cost awareness, and striving for high quality results
Trusted contact and team player at all hierarchical levels in the company
