The school caters to a diverse range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including moderate and complex learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, Downs Syndrome, specific communication and learning needs, visual impairment, hearing impairment, Speech and Language challenges, complex medical conditions, and Multi-sensory Autism.
Your Daily Responsibilities Will Involve
- Working alongside the class teacher to plan, supervise, and present imaginative lessons
- Acting as a positive role model and proficiently handling behavior
- Guaranteeing a secure learning atmosphere using a child-centered approach
- Assisting students in making academic advancements under the guidance of the teacher
- Introducing group or one-on-one interventions for students encountering emotional or social obstacles to learning
- Establishing constructive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model, and setting high expectations
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
- A hard-working, energetic, and flexible nature
- A calm, understanding, and consistent approach to working with children
- Experience supporting individuals with personal care and those with physical-medical requirements
- Ideally trained in PECs, BSL, Makaton, or TEACHH
- Experience working with wheelchair users, individuals with physical requirements, communication difficulties, Autism, and those requiring specialized personal care
- Level 2/3 qualification in Teaching Assistant or Care Training (Personal experience also considered)
- Encouragement for experienced TAs/LSAs, support workers, healthcare assistants, nursing staff, and residential care providers to apply.
